Dr. Peter McAllister of New England Institute for Neurology & Headache  says the form of brain cancer that Senator John McCain is facing – glioblastoma – is tough to treat because it grows so rapidly. He says it sends projections (tentacles) deep into the brain. So it’s hard for doctors to completely remove the tumor and it almost always comes back.
