Dr. Michael Grunstein Joins Practice with Specialized Focus on Multiple Sclerosis Care

We are thrilled to officially welcome Dr. Michael Grunstein to our clinical team. Bringing a rich background in academic clinical medicine, public health, and specialized neurology, Dr. Grunstein expands our practice’s commitment to providing advanced, evidence-based care for patients across our community.

Dr. Grunstein completed fellowship training in Neuroimmunology and Multiple Sclerosis (MS) at Yale, following his neurology residency training. He provides comprehensive care for adults with a wide range of neurological conditions, while bringing specialized expertise in Multiple Sclerosis, neuroimmunology, and complex neurological disorders.

Academic Foundation & Clinical Background

In addition to his clinical training, Dr. Grunstein holds a Master of Public Health (MPH), giving him a broader perspective on prevention, long term health, and disease management.

Specialized Focus: Multiple Sclerosis & Neuroimmunology

While Dr. Grunstein evaluates and treats a wide array of general neurological conditions including headache of all types, concussion, memory decline, ADHD, Lyme disease and other complex neurological mysteries, he brings a specialized focus to Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and neuroimmunology.

Multiple Sclerosis is a complex, autoimmune condition affecting the central nervous system (the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves). Because MS presents uniquely in every individual, Dr. Grunstein emphasizes a highly personalized, approach to diagnosis, treatment, and long term care.

1. Personalized Diagnosis and Treatment: Helping patients understand their diagnosis and navigate the growing range of disease modifying therapies (DMTs) based on their disease, risks, goals, and preferences.
2. Comprehensive Symptom Management: Addressing symptoms such as fatigue, numbness, weakness, balance problems, vision changes, spasticity, pain, and cognitive concerns.
3. Second Opinions: Providing expert evaluation when patients are uncertain about an MS diagnosis, treatment recommendation, or whether a different approach may be appropriate.
4. Clinical Research and Innovation: Under the leadership of Dr. Grunstein, and in collaboration with the New England Institute for Clinical Research, our practice will offer eligible patients opportunities to participate in clinical trials evaluating emerging treatments for both relapsing and progressive Multiple Sclerosis.
